The results are in...

...and my six-month A1C is (drum roll please): 6.1. Looks I'm out of the 5% club for now...}:-(

But at least everything else is in check, except my pesky HDL numbers (still abysmally low at 26). The BP front looks better too...might just be a case of white-coat syndrome. Or L-I-F-E...! Thanks for your input on how to handle my doctor, OC friends. I think I'll bring it up next time, as gently as possible. We'll see how it goes in 3 months' time {:-)

I'm sending out a shout to Kerri today--hope this sends a smile and a little cheer your way!

not in the 5 club but the 6 club is not a bad place to be. I have been trying to get in there like mad!

:) Love that clip for Kerri.

Kathy, would you consider monitoring your bp once in awhile at home? I think the reading at the doc's office is worth little information, and high bp can do a lot of damage. I'm just talking about a couple of times per week - you can get a machine at WalMart.
I think that we, as T1's, must do everything we can to minimize the risk factors for health problems.

George, I know but I can't help feeling a bit disappointed in myself. Like I got a 'B' when I thought I was getting an 'A'.

I loved They Might Be Giants in the late '80s-early '90s. I plan to corrupt my niece with their tunes ;)

Kathy: Thanks for the great advice. That's just what my doc asked me to do for a few weeks. My hubby has to check his occasionally, so it turns out to be good motivation for both of us. Right now I'm pegging in the normal range so I hope the trend continues. I think high BP scares me more than high BG, to be honest.
