Doldrums

Not much to write about this week on the diabetes front. My blood sugar numbers have been good, more or less even-Steven, and work has kept me too busy to put much thought into posting. I'm just waiting for this long, dreadful winter to end. My cat, as you can see, is ready for spring too.

By the way, today is my 9,125th day of living with type 1 diabetes. I have lost many things along the way, but I'm proud to say my eyes, toes, and kidneys are not among them.

There is no cure for diabetes. Yet.

As a child, I was always led to believe that I would lose those things you mentioned and would never live to be very old. It's been more than 37 years and no complications for me. Yay for us! Let's hang onto those eyes, toes & kidneys! :)

Congrats on 9125.

I too am sooo ready for this winter to end. Last night I was explaining to my roommate, an Arizona transplant spending her first winter in Chicago, that she was not a wimp for being really sick of it and having urges to hibernate. As a native Chicagoan, I feel that way too and this winter has been too long.
